Bitbucket Server (formerly Stash) provides a secure and fast source code management for Git on your own server, protected by your own firewall. Git repositories can be easily created and fine-tuned with permissions for users and groups. Bitbucket's project structure provides a quick, up-to-date overview of the Dev projects entire development workflow, from planning and troubleshooting to coding and merging. Pull requests can also be used to regularly check the code and improve quality.
Bitbucket Cloud supports the two distributed version control systems (DVCS) Git and Mercurial. Booth are open source systems that can be used from the command line or with an installed client (e.g. SourceTree). The basic idea is the same, but the following table provides the basic workflow for both. Bitbucket is free for small teams of up to five users.
